FURNITURE ANCHORS
Furniture anchors help secure suitable floor-standing furniture to a wall, but baseboards, trim and uneven walls can leave a gap exactly where the connection needs to be made.
Space-Plug is an adjustable spacer fixing designed to bridge that gap, creating a rigid fixing route between a suitable structural point on the furniture and an appropriate wall anchor or fixing.
THE PROBLEM
A baseboard may hold a dresser or cabinet forward. Decorative trim can create a stand-off. An uneven wall can leave different-sized gaps behind the same piece of furniture.
That makes anchoring furniture to the wall more awkward. A fixed spacer only works when it matches the gap, while improvised blocks and packers have to be made to suit each fixing point.
Space-Plug adjusts to the actual gap. Once set, it creates a rigid bridge between the furniture and the wall for the fixing screw to pass through.
WHY THE GAP?
Baseboards and decorative trim can prevent floor-standing furniture from sitting directly against the wall.
Bowed or out-of-plumb walls can create different gap sizes from one furniture anchor point to another.
The construction of the furniture itself can leave a space between its structural fixing point and the wall.
FURNITURE ANCHOR APPLICATIONS
Space-Plug can help anchor suitable floor-standing furniture where there is a structural fixing point and a gap between the furniture and wall.
Baseboards and trim can leave a gap behind dressers and chests. Where the furniture has a suitable structural fixing point, Space-Plug can bridge that gap to create a discreet fixing route to the wall.
Tall and floor-standing storage cabinets can be held away from the wall by trim, uneven surfaces or their own construction. Space-Plug provides an adjustable way to span the stand-off distance.
Suitable floor-standing bathroom storage can also require a wall tie-back. Space-Plug can bridge an appropriate gap while the cabinet remains independently supported by the floor.
Space-Plug should pass through an appropriate structural part of the furniture, such as a sufficiently strong solid back or structural cross-brace. Do not rely on a thin or non-structural back panel as the fixing point.
If the furniture construction is unsuitable or you are uncertain about the fixing point, use another approved furniture anchoring method or seek professional advice.
THE SPACE-PLUG SOLUTION
Space-Plug is a purpose-designed adjustable spacer fixing. It sits between suitable floor-standing furniture and the wall, bridging the space created by baseboards, trim, uneven walls or the furniture itself.
Each Space-Plug can be adjusted independently to suit the actual distance at that fixing point. The fixing screw passes through the structural part of the furniture, through the Space-Plug and into the appropriate wall fixing.

One Fixing Route
The screw passes through the furniture and Space-Plug to an appropriate anchor or fixing in the wall.
HOW IT WORKS
The principle is simple: establish a suitable structural fixing point, bridge the gap with Space-Plug and secure the furniture using a fixing appropriate for the wall construction.
Drill through a suitable structural part of the furniture at the chosen fixing point and continue into the wall.
Insert the screw through the structural part of the furniture, through the Space-Plug and into the appropriate wall fixing.
Adjust the Space-Plug until it bridges the gap between the structural fixing point and the wall.
Tighten the screw to create a secure fixing between the furniture and the wall.
IMPORTANT
Space-Plug bridges the gap. The wall anchor, screw or other substrate-specific fixing must still be suitable for the wall, furniture and installation.
Where a wall stud or other structural fixing point is required, it should be correctly located and used. If you are unsure which wall fixing is appropriate, seek advice from a competent professional.
