FURNITURE ANCHORS
Furniture anchors can help secure suitable floor-standing furniture to a wall, but baseboards, trim and uneven walls often leave space between the furniture and the fixing surface.
Space-Plug is an adjustable spacer fixing that bridges this gap, providing a rigid fixing route between a suitable structural point on the furniture and an appropriate anchor or fixing in the wall.
THE PROBLEM
Baseboards can hold a dresser or cabinet away from the wall. Decorative trim may create a stand-off, while uneven walls can result in different gap sizes behind the same piece of furniture.
That gap has to be considered when anchoring furniture to the wall. Fixed spacers need to match the distance, while improvised blocks or packers may need to be made individually for each fixing point.
Space-Plug adjusts to suit the actual gap. Once adjusted, it forms a rigid bridge between the furniture and wall through which the fixing screw can pass.
WHY THE GAP?
Baseboards and decorative trim can prevent suitable floor-standing furniture from sitting flush against the wall.
Bowed or out-of-plumb walls may create a different stand-off distance at each furniture anchoring point.
The design of the furniture can itself leave space between a suitable structural fixing point and the wall.
FURNITURE ANCHOR APPLICATIONS
Space-Plug can be used with suitable floor-standing furniture where a structural fixing point is available and a gap needs to be bridged before the furniture can be secured to the wall.
Baseboards and trim can create space behind dressers and chests. Where there is a suitable structural fixing point, Space-Plug can span the gap and provide a discreet fixing route back to the wall.
Floor-standing storage cabinets may be held away from the wall by baseboards, trim, uneven surfaces or their own construction. Space-Plug can adjust to bridge the resulting stand-off distance.
Suitable floor-standing bathroom furniture can also require securing back to the wall. Space-Plug can bridge an appropriate gap while the cabinet continues to be independently supported by the floor.
Space-Plug should pass through an appropriate structural part of the furniture, such as a sufficiently strong solid back or structural cross-brace. A thin or non-structural back panel should not be relied upon as the fixing point.
If the furniture construction is unsuitable or there is uncertainty about the fixing location, use another approved furniture anchoring method or seek professional advice.
THE SPACE-PLUG SOLUTION
Space-Plug is a purpose-designed adjustable spacer fixing positioned between suitable floor-standing furniture and the wall. It bridges gaps created by baseboards, trim, uneven walls or the construction of the furniture.
Each Space-Plug adjusts independently to the distance at its fixing point. The fixing screw passes through the structural part of the furniture, through the Space-Plug and into an appropriate wall fixing.
This provides a controlled furniture-to-wall fixing route without having to make a separate fixed spacer to match every individual gap.

One Fixing Route
The screw passes through the furniture and Space-Plug into an appropriate anchor or fixing in the wall.
HOW IT WORKS
Choose a suitable structural fixing point on the furniture, bridge the gap with Space-Plug and secure the furniture using a fixing appropriate for the wall construction.
Drill through a suitable structural part of the furniture at the chosen fixing point and continue into the wall.
Insert the screw through the structural part of the furniture, through the Space-Plug and into the appropriate wall fixing.
Adjust the Space-Plug until it bridges the distance between the structural fixing point and the wall.
Tighten the screw to create a secure fixing between the furniture and the wall.
IMPORTANT
Space-Plug bridges the gap. The wall anchor, screw or other substrate-specific fixing must still be suitable for the wall, furniture and installation.
Where a wall stud or another suitable structural fixing point is required, it should be correctly located and used. If you are unsure which wall fixing is appropriate, seek advice from a competent professional.
